Number

 

• Number:-                     

                          The word that shows whether the noun or pronoun is one or more than one is called number.

    There are two types of number 

1. Singular Number
2. Plural Number

(i) Singular Number:-

                                        A noun that denotes one person or thing is said to be in the singular number.

• Singular number denotes one person or thing.
• e.g. cow, man, woman, boy, cat, book, etc.

(ii) Plural Number:-

                                    A Noun that denotes more than one person or thing is said to be in the plural number.

• Plural number denotes more than one person or thing.
• e.g. cows, men, women, boys, cats, books, etc.
